Homemade Pretties

I bought this vase a few months ago on clearance at Target for $10.48 and it has been sitting empty waiting on me to fill it since I brought it home. (I left the sticker on and turned it to the back because I'm pretty proud of myself!)  

I've been eyeballing artificial floral stems at Hobby Lobby lately, but haven't found anything I liked enough or cheap enough to buy.  Yesterday I decided to just put some sticks in it and call it "done!"  I spent fifteen minutes breaking limbs to an acceptable length and arranging them in my skinny vase so they didn't hang out in anyone's way.

Flowers I can't do, but sticks?  I can!

Just some important dates I'm planning to hang somewhere after I shop the house for a frame that it will fit.

I found one of these buttons in the washing machine and sewed it back on mostly correctly.  If you can't tell why should I?

My Inspiration Is In The Toilet!

No, really, it is.

On one hand, my inspiration is in the toilet because I have nothing to write.  On the other hand, my inspiration is in the toilet because......  Just look at these pictures!

Yep, I'm in the bathroom.  

These are the floors in the ladies' room at Zaxby's.  Actually all the floors in the whole restaurant look like this.  Beautiful, worn, stained concrete.

Boots and I could do this, right?

What would a stained concrete floor look like in our bathroom?  It would be able to withstand any water we spilled on it.  And if we got tired of it we could put something on top of it, like tile.

Thoughts?

Yes, Please!

I've been eyeballin' these chocolate vanities at Lowe's for a while at the same time I've been on the hunt for the perfect bathroom sink that would fit in our mini bathroom.  The mini bathroom is so mini whatever sink we use will have to fit 24" x 14".  Coming in at 24" x 12" this one will be perfect!

Everyone knows how much Boots hates our blue bathroom, right?
I am begging him, begging!, for it not to be destroyed.

The Whole Bathroom (And Nothing But The Bathroom)

This is the one full bathroom in our house.

The other one is a "half bath" which translates to a sink and a toilet.

I don't know what to say about these lights.
Except that they're kinda pretty in a 1970's sort of way.
Ya know?

Boots hates this blue bathtub.
He's making plans to rip it out while I'm scheming against that darned holly bush (which at this point has met its untimely but appropriate death, I'll post about that later, 'kay?).
