2013

Like every year, this is my favorite post.  Here are some of the highlights (I think) of everything I posted in 2013, just click the link to read the individual posts.  Also, here's 2012 and 2011 if you want to go back that far.

January- I was unresolved, 29 weeks pregnant, dreaming, 30 weeks pregnant, learned how to have a baby, 31 weeks pregnant, read some books, 32 weeks pregnant, and 33 weeks pregnant.

February- I was 34 weeks pregnant, 35 weeks pregnant, 36 weeks pregnant, dreaming again, and 37 weeks pregnant.

March- I was getting ready for a baby, Mayhem was born!, 38 weeks pregnant, Mayhem was one week old, I freaked out a little, and Mayhem was two weeks and three weeks old.

April- Mayhem was four weeks old (and so tiny!), five weeks old, six weeks old, seven weeks old, I fell into Pinterest, I needed sleep, and so did Mayhem.

May- Mayhem was 8 weeks and 9 weeks old, I had a wreck, I posted my ridiculously long birth story, Mother's Day, 10 weeks, 11 weeks, and 12 weeks old.

June- My friend got married, the 4th trimester was over, 3 months, 14 weeks, 15 weeks, a man tried to sell me some books, Father's Day, 4 months old, and 16 weeks old.

July- Mayhem was 17 weeks, 18 weeks, I wrote about finding out I was pregnant, 19 weeks, Mayhem slept, I shared Mayhem's room,  our house had a birthday, 20 weeks and 21 weeks old.

August- We fought over a nap, Mayhem was 5 months old, 23, 24, and 25 weeks old.

September- Mayhem was 26 weeks, 6 months, 27 weeks, he got sick, 28 weeks, he took a bath in the sink, and 29 weeks old.

October- Mayhem was 30 weeks, 7 months, 31 weeks, 32 weeks, 33 weeks, and 34 weeks old.  And I (briefly) left the nest!

November- Mayhem was 8 months, 36 weeks, 37 weeks, and 38 weeks old.

December- This is the month I got my groove back as far as posting goes.  Not sure what clicked, but I posted on a fairly regular schedule after what seemed to me like an incredibly long dry spell in the inspiration pool.  Anyway...... carry on!  I was thankful, Mayhem was 39 weeks, 9 months, I quilted, 40 weeks, I felt balanced, 41 weeks, I made an exception for Santa, work was crazy!, Mayhem was 42 weeks old, and there was an overload of Christmas pictures.

With that, I declare 2013 done!  (And, THE BEST YEAR EVER SO FAR!)  Look out, 2014!

More Christmas Pictures

These were collected from various people and their phones, including my own, and I have to share them so I won't feel like I've left anything out.  (Also, no particular order.  Ain't nobody got time for that!)

Week 42 (Mayhem's 1st Christmas!)

This post is fairly picture heavy, but you expected that, right?

My baby sister and my baby

My mama and the one that made me a mama

He was sooooo slow about unwrapping presents.  Next year he'll probably rip through them without encouragement.

Caillou in the box!  I was a little worried that he would be scared of it, but he seemed kind of indifferent for the most part.

Such a model!

Oh, Christmas was so fun!

As you can see, we never decorated our trees.  :(   It just didn't work out with our schedules.  But it's ok!  The lights were pretty even without ornaments and it was very simple, but still festive.  And there's always next year.

Mayhem got so many new toys and clothes.  He got some new books, too, and we've read half of them already.

It was pretty spectacular and special.

Monday Morning

Do you ever get the feeling that your boss has spent the weekend dreaming up ways to keep you crazy busy on Monday morning?

I do.

First thing this morning, this little crazy boy was playing in his room and just started yanking all the books of the shelves.  I kinda figured this would happen one day so I took it as a sign that it was finally time for the ROY G BIV library to go.

This is where things got really crazy.

I took all the toys out of the closet...

...and piled them all in the floor.

It always looks worse before it looks better, right?

Thankfully, he was mostly happy to play while I worked.

I took all the books off of the shelves, except for the ones meant for babies that have hard, board pages and not paper pages, and boxed them up.  After lots of shuffling things around, I finally decided on putting the older kid books in the closet and all the toys and books he can play with now out where he can reach them.  In the middle of all this mess I decided to edit his toys down to his favorites and new Christmas gifts and put away the "baby" toys.  And I took pictures of all of his Christmas presents that he's gotten so far.  How's that for extra credit!

A trip to Target to get those baskets to hold little things makes me feel a teensy bit better about all the crazy on those shelves.  I didn't even attempt to make them pretty, just get them all on there!

I did move the top right basket down to the bottom left though.  Didn't want him to pull it down on his head.

So that was what I did today.  Were you super busy as well?

BootsSanta

After the original Santa called in sick last week, Boots got roped into being his replacement at a local daycare this morning.  Mayhem and I tagged along for laughs and it was so worth it!  How hilarious is it seeing your husband dressed as Santa Claus with a bunch of little kids, haha!  I couldn't stop laughing, especially when we were driving and getting funny looks!

41 Weeks

What's with all the banging?

He is constantly smacking something on something: the paci on the outside of the walker, rattles on the floor, beating on a shoebox with his hands.

If it's plastic and it might make a noise you can bet it's getting abused!

Today Boots gave him a metal mixing bowl and a plastic slotted spoon to bang with in the kitchen.

We thought he'd play drums with it, but he was more interested in sliding the bowl across the tile.
