Week 21

Prepare yourself for excessive Mayhem photo-overload. I had a hard time picking one or two favorites this week.

This morning, Boots and I fed him his first bowl of baby oatmeal cereal. (I kept going back and forth between rice and oatmeal. Rice is said to have arsenic and oatmeal can cause allergies. I went with oatmeal though since neither me or Boots is allergic to anything.) He was really hungry and I think that was to our advantage. Even though he wound up wearing most of it he was willing to keep taking the spoon and not screaming hysterically since it wasn't his usual way to eat breakfast.

This little lover slept 12.5 hours last night without a movement or a sound. He's so sweet in the mornings after he wakes up and has his breakfast. I think I'll keep him! ;)

Week 20 (+ 2 Days)

I'm behind this week. Wednesday was the day Mayhem was actually 20 weeks old, but we were busy visiting friends and family all day and I ran out of time.

I intended to take his picture yesterday so that this would just be Week 20 + 1 Day, but he was the grumpiest, illest little boy I know all day yesterday. It was ridiculous. His longest nap all day may have been 45 minutes. It was insane. I didn't even think to take his picture until he was asleep and in the bed. Although I thought about it there was no way I was going to sneak in there and take his picture and risk waking him up. Just not happening.

So here we are today. 20 weeks and 2 days old. He still has not rolled over from his stomach to his back unassisted, but today the little turkey has been trying to roll from his back to his stomach. What's up with that?

3 Years

We've had our house for three years today. It's been a shock to my eyes to see these pictures in comparison from then and now. As you can see, my photography skills haven't improved much in three years. I tried to get some of the same angles as then, but trying to remember where I needed to stand is hard. Plus there's so much stuff in the way now. I'm a borderline hoarder I think. And it was raining when I took these. Picture me running around outside with an umbrella in the rain taking these. I am that crazy person that the neighbors laugh at behind their curtains.

We've painted every room and all of the floors are different. This house is still a work in progress though. Some things (mostly the bathroom) are in progress and not very cute and decorated.

Oh, and I didn't "style" the house before I took these today. I picked up a few pairs of underwear, but that's about it. You can feel good about your superior housekeeping skills now. You're welcome.

I really loved this countertop. It had a "marine-edge" which was so helpful for keeping eggs and water from running off into the floor. That is the countertop edge as far as I'm concerned.
